Valeant Pharmaceuticals has named Sam Eldessouky senior vice president and corporate controller effective immediately. Eldessouky will be responsible for directing global accounting and financial reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all internal and external requirements, and he will drive efficiencies and standardization throughout the global accounting function to enhance the monthly close, consolidations, controls and reporting processes. He will report directly to Valeant’s EVP and CFO, Robert Rosiello.
Eldessouky has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, and joins Valeant from Tyco International, where he served since 2004. During his tenure there, Eldessouky held a number of positions, including senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer. Prior to his position at Tyco, he spent 10 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Eldessouky is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives International and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustee of the Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF).
