Botox, laser hair removal and liposuction are the most searched-for cosmetic procedures in the world, but the order varies by country, according to a new study by Compare the Market.
By analyzing Google searches from various countries, the market research firm identified the medical cosmetic procedures (both surgical and nonsurgical) with the highest average number of monthly Google searches.
Key findings from the research:
- Botox, laser hair removal and liposuction come out as the top three cosmetic procedures, with Botox revealed as the most searched for in 82 countries
- When looking at surgical procedures, liposuction, hair transplants and facelifts were the three most popular in the world
- Botox came out on top in 111 countries, followed by laser hair removal and microdermabrasion
- In the U.S., laser hair removal was the most searched for medical cosmetic treatment

- Laser Hair Removal: 11 (U.S., Canada, Australia, etc.)

- Hair Transplant: 6 (India, Norway, Ireland, etc.)
- Facelift: 4 (Russia, Argentina, Germany, etc.)
- Microdermabrasion: 4 (Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, etc.)
- Rhinoplasty: 3 (Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Italy, etc.)
