Zein Obagi, MD, founder and medical director of ZO Skin Health (www.zoskinhealth.com), will present a new, advanced course, entitled “Skin Essentials for the Plastic Surgeon” at Plastic Surgery 2012, the annual meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in New Orleans on Monday, October 29 from 3:00pm-5:00pm.
The course will focus on how to identify a patient's skin type to assist in both the selection of appropriate procedures and the timing of cosmetic procedures. Surgeon attendees will learn how to implement the concept of skin conditioning and master perioperative skin management. In addition, physicians will learn Dr. Obagi’s strategies—supported by his clinical findings—on prescribing the ideal skincare treatment protocols for aesthetic skin problems in Caucasian and ethnic patient groups.
“Skin care should make skin healthy rather than being solely focused on alleviating symptoms of poor skin health, such as pigmentation, finelines, acne, rosacea, wrinkles and sagging,” says Dr. Obagi. “With the right skincare regimen, we can effectively address these concerns and physicians and surgeons can achieve better, safer results from medical procedure and treatments.” For more information visit www.plasticsurgerythemeeting.org.
