The Non-Surgical Nose Job
Rhinoplasty is a nasal reconstruction procedure commonly referred to as a “nose job.” The type of plastic surgery is commonly used to resolve nasal injuries, trauma, birth defects, breathing problems and failed primary rhinoplasties. It is considered major surgery and typically involves discomfort, pain and significant downtime post-procedure. With any major surgery, there is also an inherent invasive risk to the body.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty, or liquid rhinoplasty, has been developed to address these concerns. “Along with long recovery time, a high price tag and anxiety about surgery, a liquid rhinoplasty has become an increasingly popular alternative to going under the knife,” said Adam Elshafei, M.D., owner of Aesthetica Rejuvenation Clinic (IG: @dr.adame). “The average time for a surgical nose job ranges from one to four hours, while a liquid rhinoplasty procedure can be done in minutes that give instant results. There is very minimal recovery with a non-surgical nose job since this procedure is done without anesthesia and quickly, patients can return to work the same day.”
