The patch format is a hotbed of innovation, from wearable vitamins to dissolvable microneedles for acne care. Now Better Not Younger is expanding the format to the hair sector with its hydrogel Superpower Thickening Hairpatches.
The vegan patches reportedly boost hair density and thickness of the hairline and temples, with treatments applied for 15 minutes every other day.
The format reportedly gives ingredients the time to absorb deep into the skin while preventing rapid evaporation.
Key materials include IFF/Lucas Meyer Cosmetics' Capixyl, a biomimetic peptide paired with a red clover extract for stronger and thicker hair, per the supplier. Other ingredients include red ginseng and Centella asiatica, which also promote denser, thicker-looking hair, according to the brand.
The patches also feature the brand's Superpower Blend, comprising biotin, niacinamide and Sederma's Procapil, the latter of which reportedly thickens the appearance of hair.
Also on the list is antioxidant-rich rosemary extract, which was popularized by the virality of a recent Mielle Organics launch, as noted by Spate. Finally, the patches feature apple cider vinegar "to tone and balance the scalp and increase shine and smoothness in hair strands," per Better Not Younger.
The brand claims that "61% of women saw more baby hairs on the applied area after 12 weeks," while "78% of women saw new hair growth on the applied area after 12 weeks."
