Allergan has been awarded an ENERGY STAR 2016 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its continued improvement of energy performance and leadership in energy management in both the pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. The awards recognize contributions to reducing harmful carbon pollution through superior energy efficiency efforts and ongoing leadership in the ENERGY STAR program. This is Allergan’s fifth award since becoming an ENERGY STAR partner in 1996.
The award also highlights four Allergan manufacturing sites that have achieved ENERGY STAR rankings in the top 25% of pharmaceutical plant energy performance nationwide: Waco, Texas, for eight consecutive years, plus first-time awards for Cincinnati; Fajardo, Puerto Rico; and Manati, Puerto Rico. Also achieving ENERGY STAR certification this year were five buildings at the Allergan campus in Irvine, California.
