The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) has selected ContextMedia:Health—a developer of healthcare technologies—as an Affinity Partner. The partnership makes ContextMedia:Health’s suite of digital technology available to U.S.-based AAD members at no cost, with the goal of delivering important decision-enhancement technologies, educational content and intelligence to patients and dermatologists for use before and during consultations. The agreement also brings dermatologic health content from the AAD’s patient education library to relevant practices within ContextMedia:Health’s national network of 25,000 physician practices, hospitals and health systems.
The announcement marks the first nationwide point-of-care patient education partnership for the AAD and the largest dermatology partnership to date for ContextMedia:Health.
“Patients appreciate the trusted and credible health information they receive from their dermatologists during in-office counseling, and research has shown the benefits of patient education, including greater treatment compliance and overall patient satisfaction,” said Rebecca C. Tung, MD, FAAD, chair of the AAD’s Public Education Committee. “Through this partnership, the AAD will expand the reach of important skin, hair and nail health information.”
